How we build a wood deck
Every build starts with a free on-site or over-the-phone quote. From there we set footings, frame with proper joist spacing and 3'' coated decking screws, deck the surface, then build stairs and railing to match. Most standard decks are framed and generally finished in just one day.
Stairs, railing, and skirting
Stairs and railing are where a deck either looks custom or looks cheap. We build code-height stair runs, cap the railing so you can set a drink down, and finish exposed framing with skirting (per customer request) when you want the cleaner look.
Care and warranty
We recommend staining or sealing pine, then re-coating every two to three years. Every BenchMark build carries a 2-year workmanship warranty on signed BenchMark contracts.
